This Week at Employee Ownership Ireland: Heading to the EOA Conference
There’s real excitement in our team this week as we get ready to attend the EOA Conference. It’s the biggest annual gathering of people who believe in employee ownership, and it always brings new thinking, new connections and new ideas to take home.
We’re not running the event, which makes it even better — we get to go, listen, learn and see what the wider UK community is talking about. You’ll notice themes emerging that matter for every business in Northern Ireland considering the model.
Karen Maguire is on this year’s speaker line-up
Our chair, Karen Maguire, will be on one of the panels. If you’ve ever wanted to hear the behind-the-scenes reality of becoming employee owned, this session should be on your list.
You’ll hear her views on:
- What founders need during early transition
- How governance works in day-to-day practice
- How employees build confidence in the model
- Why the Northern Ireland experience is gaining interest
If you’re attending, keep an eye out for her session. You’ll leave with something useful to bring back to your organisation.
Sessions we’re looking forward to
Here are a few areas that caught our attention:
- Leadership in employee-owned companies
- How trustees can be better supported
- Upcoming changes in regulation and policy
- Growing and scaling after an EOT transition
- Real stories from businesses across the UK
You’ll meet people from manufacturing, professional services, construction and more. It’s a chance to compare notes and hear how others are making employee ownership work in the real world.
Ask yourself this: What’s the one insight you’d want us to bring back for the NI community?
We’ll be sharing updates during the week
Expect short updates, quick takeaways and the standout ideas that could help shape the next stage of employee ownership here.
If you’re going too, let us know — we’d love to connect. If you’re following from home, keep an eye on LinkedIn for the highlights.
Which session should we report back on first?
